When you drive in the winter, you will have to encounter ice, snow, and frost. This can make the roads slick and also more difficult to drive on. One of the most important things to do is to have the vehicle maintained and inspected regularly. If you are not sure how often to bring the vehicle in, make sure to contact us. We can advise you on a schedule based on your vehicle and where you drive. This can help it to be safe and reliable when you drive.

One of the most important things to inspect on it is the tires. Without good tires, it can make for a long and uncomfortable trip. Check the tires to ensure they are at the proper inflation. This can reduce the chance of a tire blowing out, picking up sharp objects, or even having the tread wear unevenly. If you notice that the tread is wearing unevenly, make sure to bring the vehicle in and we can inspect the tires for you. A tire alignment or rotation can help keep the tires lasting as long as possible for you. This is because the tread can wear evenly on all the tires as they rotate. When inspecting the tires, also remember to take a few minutes to check the spare. The spare tire is important because you will need to drive on it if an issue happens to one of the other four tires.

Also remember to inspect the windshield wipers on the vehicle. This is important because without them, there can be a build up of precipitation and other road grime and debris. If there are any tears or rips on the blades, they should be replaced as soon as possible. This will improve your visibility when you drive. Along with the windshield wipers, also check the washer fluid. This is important because it can loosen and stuck dirt or road grime that could be on your windshield. If you notice that you need to refill the windshield washer fluid often, it could mean there is a leak in the system. By bringing the vehicle in, you can prevent further issues and a costly repair bill when it is fixed.

You should also inspect the headlights and taillights of the vehicle when you drive. This will not only help you to see the road, but also others to see where you are at. If you notice that a light is dim or or out, make sure to have it replaced as soon as possible. This can help to improve the safety of the vehicle as you drive.
