back to school

When you get ready for the new school year, you will also want to remember to have the vehicle inspected. With proper maintenance and care, the vehicle will be safe and reliable for when it is driven. Anytime you are not sure when the vehicle should be inspected, make sure to contact us. We can advise you on a schedule that the car should be brought in for. You can also check in the vehicle owner’s manual to see the correct schedule and tasks that should be done. It is also important that you are aware of any issues or problems you notice from your vehicle when you drive. If the car pulls in one direction or the other, the steering or alignment may need to be inspected.

Back to school means checking the fluids too

Also make sure that the coolant is at the right mix as you head back to school. Having coolant can help prevent the engine from overheating. If you notice that the temperature gauge is going into the red, you will want to have your vehicle inspected for why it overheats. You can also check the coolant amount when you are at home. Check the plastic tank and make sure it is filled up to the line. Remember that if you are checking the radiator, do not open the cover if the vehicle has been running. This can cause burns to you because of the build up of pressure.

Remember other tasks as well

At the same time, make sure to check the windshield washer fluid. Doing so will help you to ensure that you can clear the windshield if there is road grime or dirt build up on it. If you are driving and run the wipers, it could smear the windshield as they operate. When the washer fluid goes on the windshield, it will help to clear the windshield completely. If you notice it leaks, make sure to bring the vehicle in so we can properly inspect it for you.
