How Weather Affects your Visibility
The winter weather can cause issues with driving, but it also causes issues with your visibility. Winter weather can cause whiteout conditions at times, and it may sleet or rain as well. Making sure your vehicle is properly inspected is always important. Bring it in and we can give it a bumper to bumper inspection for you. This way we can inspect all the parts and components, even the windshield. You will want the windshield to be free of any damage like cracks. This can impair your visibility, especially if the damage is large to it. Make sure to clear the windshield before driving as well. Scrape off all snow, frost, or ice on all the windows. This will help you to see all around the vehicle better.
Winter weather and the windshield
As you check the windshield, also check the wipers. They should be free of cracks, rips, or tears in the blade. If there is a problem, it will cause issues when they are used to clear the windshield off. You will want to check the rear wiper as well if your vehicle has one. While this wiper is not used as often, it will still need to be in the best condition possible so it can clear the rear window of your vehicle. If you are not sure what size wipers, or how to replace them, make sure that you call us. We can advise you on the wipers or install them as well.
Check to make sure that the headlights and taillights are working efficiently. If they are dim or dull, make sure to schedule an appointment. Having clear lights will help others to see you when you are driving. It will also help you to see the road and ditch as you drive. You will also want to remember to check the blinkers to make sure they work. If not, bring the vehicle in and we can replace the fuse or bulb for you.
