When you have a classic car, you will want to make sure that you store it away properly. You will want to make sure that animals and vermin will not disturb or get into your car. During the cold, winter months, animals will look to get into a place out of the harsh elements. This could include your classic car. Make sure that you close all the windows and doors so that animals cannot get in. You will also want to keep the windows and doors are sealed and closed for the storage area as well. Covering the tailpipe is also important so critters will not make a home there.

Classic Cars and the Battery

You will want to remember that you should remove the battery from your vehicle. The best thing is to store the battery on a shelf or place it on a piece of wood. You will never want to put the battery directly on a concrete floor. If you do this, you will notice that the battery will start to lose charged because of the temperature change. Using a piece of wood can have a barrier to protect the battery. This will also help you to prolong the life of the battery.

Another important thing to remember is to get your car up off of the ground. By putting them on jack stands, you can help reduce flat spots occurring on the tires. Having the vehicle off of the ground can relived some tension on the springs of it. No matter what tires you have, they can develop a flat spot by having it sit for any length of time. In the spring you will want your classic car to be in the best condition possible, so make sure to take care of it now. This will help it have a longer life span as well.
