Why Having the Lights on is Important

Make sure to turn the lights on for your vehicle. Doing so will illuminate the headlights and taillights on your vehicle. Those who are driving on the road along with you, will be able to see where you are on the road. Oncoming traffic will need to see where you are, so they do not swerve or hit you. Make sure that the headlights are always in proper condition. If they look dull, make sure to contact us and bring the vehicle in. We can check the light bulb and lens to ensure it is in the best condition. Sometimes with age and wear, a new light bulb or lens is needed.

Aim the Headlights

Another important thing is to make sure that the headlights are aimed properly. If they are too high, they might blind drivers that are in the lane next to you or oncoming. Headlights aimed too low will prevent you from having the best visibility possible on the roads. You will also want to make sure the lights are aimed ahead of you, so you can have some light to each side. If the light is aimed in one direction, you will not be able to see as well on the other side. You can bring the vehicle in, and we can check the headlights, and how they are aimed.

Check all Lights

Remember to check the headlights, taillights, and blinkers on a regular basis. Doing so will help to improve the safety as you drive. If the blinkers are not working, others will not know which way you plan on turning. This can increase the chance of them rear ending or side swiping you. Remember to turn on the blinkers a few seconds before you plan on turning. This will help to alert others you will be turning soon, so they have some time to slow down or switch lanes. If you notice a blinker not working, bring the vehicle in so we can inspect the fuses for you.
