Careful Driving on Roads as the Snow Melts

by | Mar 12, 2020 | Car Care Tips, Careful

Always be careful on roads no matter what time of the year it is. As the seasons change from winter to spring, you will start to notice some roads developing potholes on them. It is important to be aware of the road and look to see what is ahead of you. This way you will notice any debris or issues. Part of this also includes looking for potholes. If there is one, try to avoid it. Always be aware of other traffic and vehicles, that way you avoid an accident. If you have to hit the pothole, make sure to slow down your speed. This will decrease the amount of damage that your vehicle encounters.

Careful Driving for the Vehicle

The suspension of the vehicle can become damaged after hitting a pothole. A sign you may notice is if the vehicle has a rough ride when driving. You may also notice that it bounces, even after going over small bumps. If the vehicle handles differently, especially after hitting a pothole, make sure to contact us. You will want to bring the vehicle in so we can give it a bumper to bumper inspection for you. This will help to keep the vehicle smooth and comfortable as you drive.

Remember to check the tires on the vehicle as well. Going over a pothole can cause significant damage to them as well. You will want to check for any damage or scrapes. Also make sure to check the air pressure in each tire. If a tire hits a pothole hard enough, it could instantly blow the tire. So make sure to pull over when it is safe to do so and inspect the tires. If you notice some issues that are long term, you will want to contact us. That way we can inspect the tires for you. It will also help to improve the safety and reliability of your vehicle.
